WEEK 14 My final lecture to everyone is simple; The entrepreneurial journey is one for people who are not easily gag down by failures and disappointment. This journey, the entrepreneurial journey, is one that is full of struggles and failures, but one thing I have learned from this course is every entrepreneur can be successful—only if they don’t give up and quit when trials come their way. Entrepreneurial journey is a journey for the Heros; people that have the spirit of not quitting, or getting discouraged along the way. Every successful entrepreneur we have seen or known have, at some point in the entrepreneurial journey, had to deal with disappointments and failures. Had they gave up, maybe, the world would not be the way it is for us. We are all familiar with Noah’s account in Genesis. Yes, it was tough for him. I believe he had multiple failures and discouragement and scorn from the very people the Lord commandm
WEEK 13 Finishing strong this week*** One thing really interesting that I learned this week is the pathway to success. It’s interesting how a potential entrepreneur can make the most of his career by working for other companies. Working in corporations or companies before starting your own exposes you to gain in-depth understanding of how to manage your own business better. It also gives you more understanding on how to run, relate with others; customers and workers alike, how to manage challenges when they come, and the exposer to many risks and how to tackle them. It doesn’t mean that successful entrepreneurs must necessarily have to work for corporations before venturing into their business, however, having worked with a corporations before starting your own business gives you more focus in whatever you go into. Another thing that I really enjoyed from this week’s lesson is don’t go into a job just because you need
WEEK 12 From what I read in pages 3 & 4 of “what’s a business for?”, Virtue and Integrity are two basic human principles that are vital to every economy. When individuals and corporate bodies have these principles, they invest primarily on the future benefits of business than today’s earnings and tomorrow’s woes. When individuals have integrity, they focus on their customers and employees, and not enriching themselves only. I realized that virtue and integrity guide an economy in that when people and business practiced these principles, it leads to increase in the earning of people because employees will be paid fair wages and will also work full day. People will always engage in genuine businesses for the betterment of their customers. This in turn increases the economic activities and growth in every economy. According to Charles Handy, the “real Justification” for businesses is for the benefit of consumers
Week 11                                                     ATTITUDE TOWARD MONEY What is my attitude toward money? Before reading this topic, my attitude toward money had always been ‘make money and give my family the best life they deserve”. But after reading this article, I have realized that my attitude toward money has changed to “seek money righteously through hard work and be a blessing to others”. Money is the driving force for people’s hard work and I hold a strong believe that we need it to do so many things as far as temporal things are concerned. I believe that having money is a good thing. The scriptures teach that we are to “seek for riches..” but more important is “..for the intend of doing good..” Having money is one thing and what you use it for is another thing. The Lord has counseled us to not let pride swallow us become of the abundant material things we have. When pride sets in when we b
WEEK 10 This week was amazing with lots principles taught. These principles are the guide to entrepreneurial journey. As an entrepreneur, one thing you should be guided by is; Thinking Big. Most often than not, people enter into entrepreneurship believing that they are going to do well, get the money and live good lives. Along the path, they start to doubt their capabilities when challenges come along. But first, every entrepreneur must have the enthusiasm to do more; to do more than now. Dream big; think big. In order to do this, entrepreneurs should not over underestimate  yourselves. Every person can do anything, you just need faith and believing in yourself. Entrepreneurs should have the courage to say ‘I can achieve this’. Set good goals and visions and work on them according to priority. Pursue your goals and never let anyone weigh you down. However, in every step along the path, involve your maker. Pray for help and
WEEK 09 Aspects of Building Trust In building trust with others, you need to first trust them. You trusting others will enable them trust you as well. When trusting business in business, you need to “set your default to yes”. Listen to what they have to say regarding a particular subject of interest. Listen to understand them not to answer them. People in businesses feel confident if their leader resorts to their help in solving a pending problem. You should help people that work for or with you. Build them to become better at what they do. As an entrepreneur, your biggest assets are your human resource. So, helping them to help you should be an important matter to you. Instead of focusing on what others do to help you, rather consider asking yourself “what can I do to help this person?” Hiring Ethical People Hire people who are generally good people and kind people. People that have compassion towards one ano
WEEK 08 This week was really both an inspiring and motivational lesson. Now these are some of the awesome things I learned from the video lessons. As an entrepreneur, I learned, you can do anything you set your heart upon. Looking at the example of the Nephi, a Book of Mormon prophet, his brothers ridiculed him when he tried building a ship to sail through the great waters. With God and hard work, the ancient holy scriptures, the Book of Mormon, records, he was able to build the ship. Why? Because he trusted in the Lord. As an entrepreneur, you need luck and the Lord Jesus Christ. Don’t work on your own strength. Subject to the whispering of the Holy Spirit to know what to do and what not to do. If you include the Lord in everything you do, He will increase your knowledge and open more doors for you. Another thing to consider as an entrepreneur is don’t underestimate your capacity. Believe in yourself and whate
