                                                    ATTITUDE TOWARD MONEY

 What is my attitude toward money?

Before reading this topic, my attitude toward money had always been ‘make money and give my family the best life they deserve”. But after reading this article, I have realized that my attitude toward money has changed to “seek money righteously through hard work and be a blessing to others”.

Money is the driving force for people’s hard work and I hold a strong believe that we need it to do so many things as far as temporal things are concerned. I believe that having money is a good thing. The scriptures teach that we are to “seek for riches..” but more important is “..for the intend of doing good..” Having money is one thing and what you use it for is another thing. The Lord has counseled us to not let pride swallow us become of the abundant material things we have. When pride sets in when we become rich as to the things of the world, then we begin to acquire and use money for the wrong reasons. We become selfish and power drunk. And then we begin to be controlled by it instead of controlling it. Then the acquisition and use of it become evil in the sight of God and man’s.

It’s good to work hard and prosper. And there are some rules that should government the our way to achieving our ultimate success. These rules as outlined in this article include;
1. Seek the Lord and have hope in him
2. Keep the commandments, that includes the temporal ones, tithing and fast offerings.
3. Think about money and plan how you can become self-reliant.
4. Take advantage of chances for learning so you will not be ignorant of these matters. Education, as President Hinckley has taught us, is the Key to Opportunity.
5. Learn the laws upon which the blessings of wealth are predicated.
6. Do not send away the naked, the hungry, the thirsty or the sick or those who are held captive.

These rules don’t just help you to prosper but I believe they will also guide you on how to use your riches in the Lord’s way.

                                                              WEEK 13 Finishing strong this week*** One thing really interesting that I learned this week is the pathway to success. It’s interesting how a potential entrepreneur can make the most of his career by working for other companies. Working in corporations or companies before starting your own exposes you to gain in-depth understanding of how to manage your own business better. It also gives you more understanding on how to run, relate with others; customers and workers alike, how to manage challenges when they come, and the exposer to many risks and how to tackle them. It doesn’t mean that successful entrepreneurs must necessarily have to work for corporations before venturing into their business, however, having worked with a corporations before starting your own business gives you more focus in whatever you go into.                                                                       WEEK 08 This week was really both an inspiring and motivational lesson. Now these are some of the awesome things I learned from the video lessons. As an entrepreneur, I learned, you can do anything you set your heart upon. Looking at the example of the Nephi, a Book of Mormon prophet, his brothers ridiculed him when he tried building a ship to sail through the great waters. With God and hard work, the ancient holy scriptures, the Book of Mormon, records, he was able to build the ship. Why? Because he trusted in the Lord. As an entrepreneur, you need luck and the Lord Jesus Christ. Don’t work on your own strength. Subject to the whispering of the Holy Spirit to know what to do and what not to do.
